what kinda mods are you going to do to this thing man? Nows a great time to clean up the engine and maybe port and polish some things like the throttle body and the intake manifold. If your going to change up the pulley's I would do it before you drop that sucker back in. I often think about how great it would be if my engine was pulled out of my car for some of the upgrades

imma take it to a shop to probably port-n-polish it,
get them to drop in the 1.8L pistons,
maybe 1.8L cams (is this better for n/a only or turbo as well?)
pulley's
turbo it to about 20-25 psi using my garrett t3/t4 super 60
turbo manifold(to be determined)
rpw valve springs ( are these really necessary? )
rrfpr ( to be determined )
what else am i missing?

you might want to check out some of the turbo builds on RDT. Between searching here and on that site you can find more then enough info. If you really go turbo thats going to be one very mean fucking accent. You'll want to start your boosting lower I would think and build up to the 20-25psi but with that you could be looking at some major HP!

Yeah, go look at the turbo builds on RDT. The largest amount of info useful to you will be found there.
Even with lowered compression that's really quite a bit of boost to force into the Beta.
I wouldn't worry about swapping the cam if you're going turbo. The stock 2.0l cam should be fine.

this car is gonna be a high output only a weekend warrior car. it wont have to be reliable for long periods of time, just to run down the 1/4 mile. my goal is to hit at least 400whp idk if that a little out of range for this motor, but hey i'm gonna get it tuned from the bottom up, start low boost, then tune my way up u know?
i still have my 2000 hyundai accent for the daily driver. i just bought this accent for the only purpose of putting as much power as i can into it. (BTW if i blow it up i have 2 more 2.0L engines and 1 2.0L block w/o the head in my garage. so i have back-ups

i need to find someone to install pistons and port n polish :-\
also what would make more power theoretically?
15psi on stock compression
or
20-25 psi on 7.8:1 compression?
