Default Honda V-Tech into Hyundai???

hey,
just wondering, do you think it is possible to swap some kind of 1.6 liter or 1.8 liter honda v-tech engine into one of our hyundai's?? just curious, the reason i would most get a honda or acura is for the engine, do you think it would fit in our cars????

would it fit...yes.

Would it mount up, no.

Would it ever work? Hell no.

Honda engines spin counterclockwise. 99.99999% of the worlds engines (including hyundai) spin clockwise. So you could never mate it to a Hyundai Transmission...only a honda tranny.

For the cost, time and trouble, you can get the same HP out of your hyundai engine cheaper.

Perhaps you could just put a Honda V-Tech sticker on the car...it seems to work for a lot of people...typically the sticker would make the engine output about 200whp....

so basically you would have 5-speeds of reverse... hey, then you could be the only one with a negative 1/4 mile time! lol

First off why do you want to do it.
Second off, why do you want to do it.
Third off, why do you want to do it.
Overrall, why in the hell do you want to do it.

Does fuel economy matters that much. A vtech tiburon? To do all that work would be nuts, plus it won't even work, and if it did work you wouldn't gain any hp from it. Vtech is val timming fuel managment not power.

You have a 2.0 engine in a 99 Elantra?

Why trade it for a ****ter, smaller, underpowered (unless you're talking GSR,TypeR,+) engine with less torque?

I personally wouldn't bother.. get a turbo instead.. God I want that Alpine..

Why don't you just wait for the 2002 Tib to come and see if they might have their own verson of Variable Valve Timing on the 2.0L Beta wink.gif.
