Default Engine and tranny swap suggestion...

I am currently driving a 95 Elantra and I need a suggestion on what kind of engine to drop in my car. I want to get the best (most power) i can fit in there without having to make too many modifications to the bay. I also would like to turbo or super charge it, whichever is best, and to drop a standard tranny in it. Thanks in advance for your help.

BTW...moving to ENGINE forum.

Since you have the 95 Elantra, you actually have a Mitsubishi motor in there. You should be able to drop in the Mitsubishi 4G63 turbo charged motor. You would need the stronger tranny/stronger clutch/different gear ratio's from the turbo car as well.

You can also try to upgrade your N/A motor to the turbo motor's specs.

So it really all depends on your budget and timeline.

Most of the DSM guys do the mitsu engine swap.

its usually cheaper

also you will have a turbo ecu, and they are to EASIER to deal with once you start turning up the boost.
