<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Fintile @ Sep 10 2009, 03:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Ditto on the 450-500 whp. Unfortunatly they used stock rods in the 2.0T. Aftermarket rods would have been a lot better but we all know you can get major power from the stock V6 with new pistons and such.

I still say its too early for anyone to buy a 2.0T thinking they can do anything to the car. They have intakes and exhausts and little nik-naks that pretty it up a bit but TRUE performance mods are not going to be available anytime soon. A good friend of mine works at Fujita (he makes the prototype intakes). He was telling me that his sources at Greddy and HKS say that any available kits for the Gen 2.0 are not likly in the next year. Greddy I dont belive is going to make anything for it. HKS is working on a turbo upgrade kit, but again who knows when it will come out. There's still nowhere you can get a reflashed ECU for it anyway so to do the stupid thing of buying an exhaust and intake isn't going to be of any good.

I forgot who did it but they did a test with and exhaust and intake on the Gen 2.0 and they found it really didnt do more than 10hp max. SO yeah $800 to buy some parts and get 10hp? What it needs is a reflash with a higher boost release and the intake and exhaust. The reflash is so much more important. Look at Dinan or Dinnin (however itsspelled.) they have everything from intakes to exhausts to cams for the BMW line and EACH one is made to pair up with a reprogramed ECU.</div>

I got my ECU reflashed by PowerAxle and buscher makes a rod and piston kit(same one on my GC, and i have replaced the pistons and rods wink.gif, but i didnt quite stress test them like those videos 187sks lol). Beyond Redline puts out some very good products too. As for HKS and Greddy, HKS makes blow offs FMICs and Spark plugs for the GC and Greddy has turbos that are mountable to an aftermarket manifold that CP-E makes (same one i have on my GC). Poweraxle, Buscher, Tial, CP-E, HKS, Beyond Redline, AGP, AMS, Aeroforce, KPR just to name a few. Theres more than a handfull of companies putting out parts (and soon kits) for the 2.0T. Ive seen less for the V6. So theres more than enough products out there to make 300+ whp for the 2.0T and i plan on getting there without blowing my pretty new pistons. Hope that answers some questions, if not please ask away!

so there may not be any full blown "KITS" from any one company but there sounds like a bunch of different companies that make enough parts for you topeice together a kit...that could be both good and bad. So POWERAXEL is a for sure then...last i remember they were talking about doing reflashes on the GC but havnt heard anything since. Thats very good news... do they doa preset list of reflashs or are they all custom based on what mods you have?

Pretty much, no one has a complete set like you said, but theres more than one option for each part to make a decision on the "best part availible". Yes powerAxel has completed their reflash both for a general preset for basics like intake and exhaust, and they also do custom tunes, but you have to go to one of their shops or one of their supporting shops to get that. So its def not a huge market like other cars, but im happy with the amount of product given the short time the GC has been out.

I had $500 deposits at two different dealers in Vegas. Wanted a 2.0T Track in any color except black. After 4 weeks of, "we'll have one in 3 days", I gave them both 48 hours to deliver or return my deposits. They ended up giving back the money and I bought my new Mustang instead. I'll revisit them in about 2-3 years.

If they told me it's gonna be at least at month, I would've waited. They just pissed me off with the whole "3 days" thing for a month.

I was going to get one in June for my graduation, but I got a '08 Tib because my G'pa said either the Gen Coupe or the Tib and he would pay for my college. So I went with Tib and college. I have no regrets about it.

Thats got to suck. Southern States Hyundai here in Raleigh had 3; 2 3.8L(basic) and 1 2.0 Track.

lol thats not a bad deal at all...smart choice. My first car was a 04 tibby so I cant say anything about them, they are very nice rides.

Id love to be down in Raleigh right now. On my other forums i know atleast 10 people with GC down there, but its about 4 hours from me and I cant do that every weekend....maybe once a month.

Well im still waiting on mine but due to money i would need to be smart. $25k would prolly be my max limit wich kills my chances of getting a 2.0 Track...BUT at the same time more and more cars are being sold. Ive seen at least 6 M3s all between $22k-$35k for an 06 with between 30-60k miles....G35s same milage range all for between $15k--$$25...so who knows which direction I'd go. Hopefully the R-Sec 2.0 is out by then and maybe there are some used GC's as well... LOL already seen some on Autotrader too:
