Default Somebody explain to me why the Genesis doesnt use spark plug wires

Every car I have ever owned had both plugs and wires. The Genesis is the first car I have owned that only has plugs. So what makes it so much different than other cars and what is the technology behind it not needing wires?

The coil sits right on top of the plug. Less to go wrong and more control over the spark.

It's also a less expensive system to fix. Our MC's alpha uses CPs and I can get them for about $30/piece on rockauto. Also, they seem to last longer. I've only had to replace 2 and we're already at 105k (I know they are supposed to be replaced at 30k, but meh.) I can't count how many times I'd put wires on the Tib, and just did a set on the 2.
