I know hyundai is on the kick to redesign models every two years. I live in the northeast and people here loved the genesis car but wanted awd for the snow. That hurt sales at are dealership. If they had the awd model now it would sell alot more. The car is up against the Lexus, BMW and Mercedes and they all offer awd sedans. I would love to have a gdi turbo awd accent. That would scare the sti and evo guys. Power to weight ratio.

It will be competitive against the newer Subaru's and Evolutions, but it is the older ones that are lighter that will pose a problem: at my old work we tested the old and newer cars on-track, and the older ones were actually quicker thanks to them being lighter(and having the all weight in better places) How competitive the 4WD Genesis will be against these depends on what the engine will be, where it will be in relation to the front wheels, and the type of 4WD drivetrain used.

 

I'd bet good money that the AWD Coupe will be targeted to poor weather drivers and not sporty drivers. This means it will only be available with the V6 and automatic tranny. No stick shift.
