Is it me or are the prices for a genesis dropping like a rock?

Went to a dealer over the weekend and saw a brand new 2011 2.0 Premium for $18K with 3 miles on the OD. They had about 6 other ones there too that were really cheap. One of the sales guys there said they’re not selling and a few that they did sell came back as trade ins for something else. Is there something I’m missing? Why doesn’t anyone want them?

Well, I would guess that it's really hard to sell a RWD sports car in Toronto when there's snow on the ground. But yes, I've heard they are dropping in price quickly. That comparable to what someone posted in NY recently.

I'd love to get a GC for $18k, slap $7k on it and have a bad ass $25k Genesis with only 3,000 miles.

Damn...18k is a great price. If you wheel and deal, you could even get it lower if the sticker price is 18.

Hmmm.... maybe I should go look into this. When I got my HD the used coupes were running about what a new one cost. I got a hell of a deal on the HD so I might be able to get away with selling it and getting a coupe...

The NEW car sale prices are not dropping by any means. The USED prices are going to be garbage. Hyundai has TERRIBLE resale value. My 3.8 with 43k miles has a KBB trade-in value of $16k... and I'm sure the dealer would only offer me $10-12k, if that.

Also... let me clarify that you said 2011 new. That means it's a leftover since the 2012's are out so the price may have been dropped to get it out the door.

2011 model + winter snow + RWD = noone buying = great price

I got my 2010 GC in Feb 2011 for a great price.

I paid $18.2 for my 2.0 Premium. That was the dealers out the door price. I put down 3K so my loan is only for $15K

My 2011 2.0t base auto out the door with 2k down was 20k, and they paid off my old 2006 Sonata GLS V6.. Bought it from Sheppard Motors in Eugene, in July.

Saw yesterday a local place had a 2010 2.0 Premium with 7k miles for only $13.4k

I'd never buy a Premium because they don't come with a stick shift. The R-Spec and (when they still offered it with a 2.0T) Track models were never much lower than sticker when I was looking.
