Hyundai Aftermarket > Gen Coupe.com
Not a fan of it either. I like a couple of the other Genesis forums but they tend to get like Gencoupe.com too. It must be the way alot of Genesis owners are. There seems to be so many douchebags in the community. They scare off members who want to learn and vendors who want to be able to help the community. Aw well. Horse meet stick. Cant say anything else that you guys have said already.
Welcome!
I was a long time member of Gencoupe.com, January 2010, under the same name with ~454 posts. While I didn't post often there, I felt that my contributions, for the most part, were a benefit to the community. Being pretty active in the "modification" of the unavi, my custom Android "blue lcd" replacement app in development, and various other projects and contributions, I felt betrayed when the "nazi" admins found it necessary to ban me and force me to leave the site.
While my opinion may have been harsh at times, especially towards Import Shark, posting their "BBB" rating in 4 threads when members were asking for their opinion, apparently merited a ban due to "harassment". While I was looking out for other members considering purchases from the Shark, the moderators were more concerned about the vendor's payment than that of protecting its userbase.
The community needs to stick up for one another, advise new members of the reputations (good or bad) that vendors have, and steer them in the right direction to do business with a vendor who won't take their cash and run - unfortunately, gencoupe.com apparently didn't care about any of that, just their bottom line as well.
I understand that Autoguide is a business and it requires vendor funding to be functional and profitable, there comes a point where supporting the shadyness and bad business practices by vendors needs to come to light and the vendors need to be held responsible for their actions. They are ultimately disgracing themselves, their business, and Autoguide who chooses to promote such behavior. A similar view would be Apple and FoxCONN, Apple took appropriate actions once FoxCONN's situation was exposed.
Somehow, the moderators found it appropriate to ban me for "harassment" despite me showing them several abusive, rude and blatent harassment private messages from Mike@ImportShark, in which no action was taken.
The ban made me realize that Gencoupe.com wasn't about technical and vehicle contributions - but that of monetary gain for the host, moderators and vendors. Perhaps my expectations were too high when I left the 3si.org scene (full of GREAT members and huge contributions to the platform) for Gencoupe.com.
Regardless, I am here now, and through my quick reads, am very excited to become a part of this community. I have several new things to share in the coming weeks, such as making the "blank" under the TCS button an actual switch, and can't wait to start additional contributions to an already well-established board!
Thanks for having me along!

Crashp! We are a great community here, and you dont have to worry about ANY of the issues you posted about Gencoupe.com on here. Glad to have you on the site, and look forward to reading your contributions and topics.
I dont know if its been said already but the facebook groups are just as bad as gencoupe.com is. The same people who run that forum are the ones who cause problems and spread hate on facebook too. I used to own an Elantra and used to hang out on EXD. People were so nice there and you never saw the bullshit that goes on at gencoupe.com. Are genesis owners just a**holes by nature?

this new forum is starting to grow on me
, but are there going to be sub forums for specific topics? like one for engine stuff, one for wheels and suspension..etc. just for the genesis section? seems like right now its all just mashed together under "Hyundai Genesis Forum".

If it's a general engine question, it should go under the Engine forum. If it's specific to a Genesis 2.0T engine, it's appropriate to put it in the Genesis question. The broader topics allow for people of other models to contribute their knowledge and insight to your question.
If you have a question about turbo size, maintenance, or need help understanding an intercooler, it definitely shouldn't be limited to a model specific forum as owners from all models can likely contribute.

Ya'll aint kidding about gencoupe.com or the FB groups. People are the worst over there and in the groups. It sucks that such a beautiful car like the Genesis can have a tarnished reputation due to the people who drive them.
Gencoupe.com is stupid. I havent logged in over there in forever. The groups on Facebook are getting out of hand too and I think I'm gonna opt out of them. I hangout on rwdcoupe.com sometimes but its slow over there. I've been lurking here for awhile but I think Im gonna start being more active and participating in alot more topics. I like it more and more each time I log in.
