Clutch and Flywheel Question

Competition Clutches come with the clutch and single mass flywheel which replaces the dual mass. A bunch of websites sell clutches from other companies by themselves without a flywheel. So can I still use any clutch I want but keep the factory dual mass or do I have to chance to a single mass when I install a new clutch with more holding power?

The dual mass in the gen1 3.8 is garbage. Unless you can throw in a clutch on the weekend get rid of it. My clutch and PP looked good at almost 100k but the flywheel was junk.

To actually answer the question - it depends on the application. Some bolt to the factory flywheel and others don't. Check with the manufacturer before buying.

What I wish I had done (My Spec flywheel + clutch = sh*t in Houston) is use the gen2 dual mass and any not crap clutch disc/pressure plate combo on it.
