The GC may hit 13's and 300whp, but there's a reason why a very slim few hit 12's and 350+. I honestly don't know the reason, but I suspect that it's money oriented, otherwise it would happen more often.
Slinging that heavy beast around like a drift machine isn't going to be easy.

I am going to bet tossing a GC around will be way easier than tossing around my Miata. I had became fairly decent at that so I am not worried about tossing around 3300lbs. Also I am making this a fun car, I am not attempting to enter Formula drift or anything crazy.
Miata Drifting
Also I believe the key to 350 whp is not as simple as bolt on and a tune. It would require a lot more supporting mods, plus a standalone, so I assume warranty and money are the cause for less of these around. I do not plan on going that extreme I think 300whp and great throttle response and the early torque delivery will be enough to counter the extra weight when comparing it to my old drift rod.

More videos from Mexico.
GC vs 370z Nismo
This is what actually got me wanting one over the 370, plus the price diffrence of course.
HA or I do not entertain street racing, but here is a video from Mexico of a 2.0t 13 GC vs Everything.
GC vs Everything
GC vs Everything
All I see is a bolted and tuned gensis barely pulling away from stock cars and getting pulled on by anything modded lol. Sorry
Test drove the GC and 370z back to back. GC was the V6. Night and day difference. 370 hands down the better car. Still love my hyundais, and to get a 100k warranty on a sports car is just awesome! But the 370 was the better car.
Let's be honest it's all about the money
The Z is a real sports car and the GC is still wannabe racer!

33 000$
1600kg
0-60 5.2
1/4 mile 13.8
Fake hood vents
Ugly front end
Stupid shifts and so on...
I'm not a fan

Yes, let's be honest about the money. Spec out a Z with the same features as a base 2.0T Gen Coupe and then give me that same amount of cash to spend on a Gen Coupe. We'll see who's quicker in the 1/4 mile and on the road course.
If it's only to be fast buy a bike ! Or if you want to play that game give me the money you will spend on that 2.0t and lets see who's faster
For this power to weight ratio GC is one of the slowest cars

I wouldn't buy an EVO, or STi. They're both little boyracers and ugly. And I'd rather have a solid RWD vehicle than any AWD car. Drivetrain loss, cramped engine bays, and additional glass parts are not something I'd want to deal with while racing. I'd rather race than work on the car.
And you must not watch import racing much. A 500whp Civic will beat a 500whp EVO all day.
AWD is for grandmas to get to the grocery store up in the northern states.
