Anyone know if Infinity rims will fit on a Genesis?

IIRC, they're very high offsets and don't look very great. If you're looking for a low price wheel, consider XXR.

I would use stock offset as much as possible.
Fiddling with the offset will definitely upset your steering geometry. At a minimum you'll be getting strange steering feedback, worst case you'll chew out a wheel bearing or do a barrel roll when braking on strange surfaces. Although I do agree that lower offset wheels look great. Why not use the mushroom edged wheels or whatever the japs call it? Those wheels are 18x8 and 18x9, and I would suspect +38 offset or higher. Typically, G35 coupe/sedan aftermarket wheels are in the 30s to fit flush. These OEM wheels would possibly be "more sunk" than OEM Genesis wheels.

a 10" wheel would be flush with +20 offset. My 10.5" with +20 is somewhat flush with -2.5 camber. Using a 9" wide wheel with +42 offset would sit more than 2" sunk within the fender. Not to mention it's 18" :thumbdown: Maybe good for 1/4 mile lightweight, but not for looks.

I don't agree that putting different width wheels and different offset will negatively affect the feel or "steering feedback" of the car. How could it not? ALL of your steering feedback comes from your tires, this feedback is then multiplied and reduced by the various leverages and gearings within the steering system. Widening the tire, changing where the tire sits in relation to the steering axis, hell, using a different brand of tire... all of these will affect the steering feedback. Power steering masks a lot of the wacky steering feedback, but it's there. Offset is really important, it is used as a mean to various ends: getting the wheel to pivot correctly, getting the steering to self-correct in various problem conditions, getting a proper buildup of steering resistance to indicate what the tires are doing, and also not shredding the tires when shani'qua parks the car. Changing wheel offset is changing the track of the car, changing the roll center height and changing the scrub radius. It's srs bzns and ought to be left alone unless absolutely necessary. |

Yeah...... But..... Maffs!? Seriously, how people calculate tire size and fittment is beyond me. Can someone please explain that to me? |
