Elantra battery cables
Can anyone recommend good replacement battery cables? My cables are old, ratty and loose around the posts. I can't tighten them anymore to create a snug connection so I figure just replace them. There seem to be multiple connection from the positive terminal to different things but they don't seem like creative wiring.

I don't know how to replace them, but mine are loose too. I stole the copper pins from an old fuse, and yammed it between the post and terminal. I've also seen somebody put a self tapping screw in there... ghetto ghetto funkay....

You can get cables at any auto parts store. The band type lightweight clamps are cheap too.
I would take them off and go to the store to get the right length. |
The battery terminals can be replaced with aftermarket ones, usually the cables need to be crimped onto new lugs for best connections the bolt on.
Earth straps are easy as the can be bought off the shelf in different lengths. If you are unsure or want it right, Take it to an auto electrician they should be able to advise you or do it for you. |
I should do this to my car as well. The positive battery cable is pulled taught because it's too short, and the negative clamp is just loose over the post.
