which plug are you talking about? is it the plug on the shifter? on the tranny? if you're talking about the range selecter, i think it has more than 6 wires. if you tell me which plug, i could help you better. fwiw, hyundai doesn't follow ANY color scheme on their wiring.

can you be specific as to which plug?

I can post up schematics as to the male/female ends of the connector if I know which one it is.

Also...how did this plug get smashed so thourghly that you can't tell what wire goes where????

friend was doing some mods and dropped a hammer on it...so he says...i wasn't there....i am pretty sure it is right on top of the tranny right below the battery.....i dont have the car at my location at the present time so i can't go look and double check i know it is only 6 wires though and that it controls the shifting b/c we tried plugging them in, in what we thought was correct and the shifting was off and then swictedh and the shifting was different once again

umm, you might wanna look through your eletric shop manual and see which wires should be hot at which shifter positions. use a circuit tester to test each shifter position.

any chance you could dig around http://www.hmaservice.com/webtech/default.asp and find a diagram that points to the wire connector you are talking about?

I can't find any schematic that shows a wire connector UNDER the battery, or even in that general area. (other than the fuze/relay box next to the battery)
