1 of the screws on my fuel pressure regulator is stripped badly and I cannot remove it

any methods for removing this?

You need a rethreading kit. There are two types, metric and SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). You'll need a tap drill, or a metal drill bit (gold ones are for metal) which i prefer. Drill it out completely smaller than the original hole. Then tap it using the correct size and thread. You can find that out using the thread finding tool included in the kit.



I bought mine (in a case) for around $20 off amazon.

its a stripped screw not a thread like a "helicoil" job is not what I am doing if that's what your referring to

If you have a dremel or other cutting tool and enough of the screw is left, cut a deeper slit in the head of the screw and use a flat head. That or a pair of vice grips and put a ton of pressure on it. However, either of those methods could result in a snapped off screw flush with whatever you are working with, then you would need to drill it out anyway, then tap it with the kits HKC was talking about :-/

Why not just replace the whole FPR assembly. Problem solved! I have one available. PM sent.

Same procedure, essentially. you can't use a screwdriver anymore so you'd have to drill through the screw and rethread the hole.



If you want to cut off the head, Dremel is having a promotion at Walmart. $34.00 for the base model. It'll cut/sand off anything in 6 seconds.

I need a new one! Ill have to go see if that is still going or going on over here.
