Default Strange noise!! RANDOM HELP!!

I have a Brass button Clutch which i purchased from HVE last summer.I must of put on 10,000K on it.
Anyways the problem is when im on a hill and in First gear ready to go the tranny makes a load rattling noise.Im not sure if its the clutch thats gone but it shifts perfect into every gear without a grinding noise.
It only happens when im on a hill or sometimes reversing.
Its hard to expalin but it has a loud rattling noise.
Also when i take off from First gear i BARELY touch the gas and the car goes without staling.
Whould the Clutch be gone?
Whats a way of Testing if the clutch is gone?
Any help would be appreciated.

I sometimes get that rattling when going up a hill, it may be something to do with our use to being automatics.

umm....to test clutch? Put it in 2nd gear, and go down under 10mph, then gun it, if the rpms rev faster then the mph, then the clutch is slipping.

I don't know of anyone else with that clutch...so the noises you are experiencing are unique.

Try contacting HVE and see if they can give you any help/direction. From your description, it SOUNDS like the clutch is holding fine...but you are just experiencing "noises".

Clutch test for hydraulic actuation(slave/master cylinders) Is the engagement point of the pedal high up(upper 1/4 of pedal throw)If so the clutch disc is worn.

If this is not the case, be sure that the clutch cover pressure plate was properly torqued down. If this is not the case then there may be a spring broken off in the gearbox bell housing.

Good luck man...

When i started my car this morning i noticed a rattling noise in my trann. The noise is not consistant all the time but it comes and goes as i noticed today.Im thinking its my clutch bearing that needs greasing and this should rectify the problem.I drove my car up a hill and came to a complete stop.As i put it into first and was releasing the clutch the rattle noise came back and i also felt my foot vibrate at the same time.
Now i dont want to pay for so much labour just to grease a bearing,so my question is can i leave it the way it is and it wont damage anything?

It depends on the vibration. My clutch "chatters" during engagement unless I slip it out perfectly. I can feel the vibration through the pedal, and the whole car, however the "chatter" is nearly noiseless.

If you have noise and just a minor vibration only felt through the pedal...chances are something is wrong there...

That sounds like a loose spring on the pressure plate. I'd get that puppy looked at ASAP.

Random =!
The noise was not present this morning and it comes and goes whenever it wants. Its not consistant. It could be the spring like you mentioned but it sounds like the throw out bearing like last time or its the clutch scarpping inside the bell housing AGAIN
DAM HVE
I think the same problem is back
