Random, anyone help with injectors and gurgling noise!!!!
I have a 99 Tib FX with only 18,000 miles on it and the injectors are making this load clicking sound that is driving me nuts. I have taken it to the dealer and they said it's normal they even said their is a SB (sevice bulletin) on them. My question is how can I fix it or do I have to live with this freakin noise for the duration of my time with my car.
With the gurgling noise it sounds like either the oil or anti freeze boiling when it gets hot although it does do it when it is dead cold but gets worse with the duration of running time. I know it just might be the the oil making a return trip or anti freeze for that matter but it just started to do this like last week it was also checked at the dealer the said they listened to the block with a stehascope and heard nothing but do admit there is a noise but they said what I said the oil I use is 10w-30 and I use a K&N high flow oil filter just added that info so it would help you with your decision on the problem. Thanks in advance.

The gurgling noise you hear is probably air trapped somewhere in the coolant system.
With your car barely warm (run it for 1 minute if cold), remove the radiator cap, and squeese and pump the upper radiator hose. See if air bubbles come out the top of the radiator. Squeeze carefully or you will squirt coolant out the top of the radiator.
If you don't want to do this, put your hands on the radiator hoses when the gurgling noise is happening. Can you feel the vibration with the noise? Does the noise go away or change if you squeeze/deform the upper radiator hose when hot? (be careful the stock cooling fan does not kick on and chop you up!) Try and determine the source of the gurgling. Keep putting your hands on everything you can touch (be careful of hot or moving things!), and try to pin point the sound.
The stock injectors are noisy bastards, and they do click like crazy. If you feel yours are being "overly" noisy, run 1 can of some good fuel injector cleaner through your car for the next 5 tank fulls (1 per tankfull). See if that quiets them down any. Dirty injectors should not be any noiser than clean ones, but I have found it does quiet them down a tad.
If the gurgling is not the coolant lines, it might be the HLA's...ditto with the noise you think is the injectors. It might be the HLA's and oil moving around. Dump in some motor flush just prior to your next oil change, and see if that doesn't solve both problems.

BING BING!
There's my one new thing learned for the day. I think I know this sound...does it sound vaguely cammy / valvey?
No the noise sounds like if you tipped your head back to gurgle with salt water. I was thinking it is the K&N high flow oil filter, I don't know but I will try the radiator thing and see if that helps. Thanks and I let you know if it works or if it's the cause.

If the gargling sounds like water...it probably is. I also use the K&N high flow oil filter, and I do not have that problem, so I'm guessing you just have air trapped in your coolant lines.
Ok I went out and did the one minute thing by trying to push air out but there was none in the lines at all actually I was pushing anti freeze out and no air bubbles at all. Just to make sure all my fluid levels are full and the gurgle/knocking noise is still there and have no idea what or where it's coming from and it's reall y making me mad. PLEASE HELP
. I will try to explain it further if you need me to to help me fix it. Thanks.

Well, in order to fix it, we need to nail down the source of the problem. Have you been able to figure out where the gurgling noise is coming from yet?
I can hear it more to the bottom of the block and in the drivers side and passenger side wheell wells it happens not matter how warm or cold the engine is and doesn't get worse or better with running it.

I'm wondering if somehow your knocked a screen or baffle loose in the oil pan. That would allow oil to litterall "pour" back into the pool of oil in the oil pan, and give sort of a gurgly noise...
Thats the only thing I can really think of. It should be louder on the passenger side than the drivers side though...
Or you somehow have either air trapped in your water pump cavity, or something wrong with your water pump blades, causing them to cavitate. But the water pump should change speed somewhat with engine RPM...
does the gurgle change with rpm or stay constant?

I don't know about the rpm's I will try that today. and also listen to see if it is loader on side than the other. If I did somewat loosen a screen or something will it harm the car down the road or will it be ok?
