P1123 CEL
Yes the CEL continues to plague me. Thanks Random on the O2 sensor info. I bought a OE sensor and some real time analysis shows correct output voltages on the scan tool...
anyway, this past tues. i got a P1123 code... basically says i'm running LEAN....got it cleared (hoping it was just a fluke eventhough it's been my 4th one within 5k) and got another one wed. (happening more often now especially since i crossed 100k on the odo.) and decided i give it up and let the dealer handle it. Today (fri.) i take it in, they run their mammoth scan tool and invite me in on the problem solving. We checked the MAF, TPS, and IAT sensors and found no problems. We double checked the MAF by base lining a brand new one...(he didn't let me keep it on the car though.. tongue.gif ) Well, we couldn't find a problem... they let me go free of charge and said to give 'em a call back if it popped up again and they'd hook up the big computer and start checking wavelegnths...etc. I got home and looked up the code on webtech and i noticed that under that row for P1123 it said the component for this code is the FUEL SYSTEM....
dirty injectors?
I do have the original stock fuel filter (110,894 miles to be specific)
Could this 'cause me to run lean sporatically ('cause i can't really consistantly reproduce the problem)
What do you guys think??? I think we're close...

yeah sounds like you might have found something. I wish my car had given me better leads... I did change the fuel filter (not as bad as i thought. the bottom nut was a @#$! to separate from the fuel line to the fuel filter. FYI, fuel line nut is 14mm and the fule filter itself is 3/4" on the bottom of course. Top nut is 10mm.) and added some STP fuel injection system cleaner. The only hard part really was getting the filter off of the bottom fuel line by manuvering the 14mm and 3/4" wrenches with no visiblilty (can't see the nuts 'cuase its under the filter... had to use a mirror) and with little room to spare for wrench movement. Since i had my rear seat out, unplugging the elect. harness was a snap for fuel line depressurization. All in all if anyone needs help with this, e-mail me and i hope this one solves my P1123 crap.
Oh yeah, by using the search option at www.hmaservice.com entering in P1123 or any code will pull up diagnostics instructions that'll tell you what components may be responsible and why and how the code comes up! AWESOME website!

all the problems i have been having are now gone..i have had this problem where the car stutters/hestates when pressing the gas pretty quick..i tried everything..my cel came on for misfiring in cylinder 4..well i changed my plugs..gapped them and bought new sparkco 9.2 mm wires..no more problems..the car feels alot better =)
Thats great! So far so good. My tib feels much better too but i don't know if its psychological or not. It's gonna take a month of smooth running till i have some faith in this whole CEL fiasco.
So where did you get your wires and how much? Are they good quality?

You also might want to check your Fuel Pressure Regulator. If you are at 100K miles, it's possible you're down on fuel pressure due to it going bad.
