Oil flush with ATF help

Greetings,

In Korea, no one has anything that can flush an engine - It is called "Flushing oil" but I have yet to see any around.

Problem is the guy who had the car before me used sh*t oil and left it in there too long, so there's caked up sh*t everywhere! It needs an oil change yesterday, but I want to flush it before I do it.

I've been told to use ATF (and even used it in the past) but I want to know what you guys recommend. Timing is of the issue, as I am embarking on a 300 kilometer trip next week.

Thoughts?

Never heard of using ATF. I suppose their laws prohibit the sale of GUNK or other engine flush fluids?

I would not use ATF. They don't sell engine flush stuff there?

If you can't get engine flush there, just change the oil for now, then get some Gunk shipped to you and change it again once it gets here. I mean, it's what something like 2 quarts of oil? It's 800cc's of fury right?

What kind of flush? I've used a quart of ATF to cure a noisy lifter. Just add it and let it burn off. It is basically 10w oil.

If you really want to clean out the carbonized gunk use Auto-RX. Gunk is basically a solvent like diesel fuel or naphtha. I would not use either they work too fast.

Yeah, I think I'll just change it now. I got some mineral oil, I'll let that course around in there, and then when I get some flush, I'll change the oil with synthetic (it's 20,000 WON vs 14,500) that should be a treat for the little motor.

Apparently it takes 4 quarts too!

Use pretty much any light petroleum based solvent. Naptha, sure. Gasoline, no.

I found some at a larger e-mart... 15 bucks!

What the f*ck is that! It's normally like 5 bucks back home! What's in it, Jesus' urine?

They don't have naptha trees in korea
