my clutch pedal is squeeking!
ok, my clutch pedal is squeeking! what should i do?
Step on it? :D
Install a mousetrap under the pedal? :D Seriously...lube up the slider in the engine compartment. That is what is sqeeking. Have a friend pump the pedal a few times and you will see the arm moving in the engine compartment. Just put a couple of DROPS of oil on that arm, and the pivot point, and it will quiet right down. |
Random,
any particular type of oil? 3 in 1? WD40? I've been living with this problem for a year now and would LOVE for it to go away. thanks, ac |
I just use good old fashioned motor oil. 3in1 oil would probably do the trick too.
hmmmm. i got the inside worked on. WD-40 and I don't think i hear any squeeking anymore. smile.gif I should get the engine compartment also. Thanks.
Only problem with wd-40 is that it dries out fast. Your clutch may be squeeking again in about a week!
Really! ok, then some motor oil.
White grease works the best. Clutch has a nylon bushing, which sometimes can dry out a bit over time helping to cause this squeak (and for me, a bit of rubbing as well) Spray some white grease over it in engine compartment as Random explained where it is, pump the pedal a few times and you should be good to go.
