Default Loosing coolant...

So here we go again...

I'm checking my car every now and then , but this time I found out that I'm loosing coolant ( from full to under min. even the radiator took some ) ?!?

This summer was very hooot and I was using nitrous a couple of times, so I think this might be the problem cause there are no visible leaks ( I'll check again tomorrow morning ). My main concern is if the head gasket is f*cked up !!! As u can see from this video ( my last run ) there is some smoke going out , but it's only in 1-2 gear ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q078M...el_video_title

After I check tomorrow for leaks I'll leave it with open radiator and check if some air is coming out. Is 100% sure that the head gasket is blown if bubles are coming out from the radiator cap ?

I'll wait for some answers from u and if I have to I'll remove the head this weekend. I wanted to P&P the head so it might be 2 in 1

P.S. The water pump, the radiator and the termostat are all changed before less than 2 years.

think about where you last left your coolant and check there-... maybe the pockets of a pair of pants? where else would you put your coolant? j/k

white smoke can sometimes mean that you have coolant in your exhaust system-...

smelling the exhaust fot a "sweet" smell is a better indicator of a coolant leak.

Thanx for the "funny" comment

Update from today: I'm 99% sure that the head gasket is f*cked up, cause even in the coolant reservoir there is some exhaust smell...

Soooo tomorrow I'm gonna start rippin' it apart ! I'll post pics of the whole process if somebody is interested.

I'll get everything that I need and may all Hyundai GODS be with me

Looks like a headgasket from the video. Leak down test will tell you for sure.

Running super rich will make your oil and smell like gas just cause of the blow by, by the coolant should not smell like Exhaust, but if it does a very easy way to tell a bad head gasket is a oil change, i would say 99 percent of the time you get a bad head gsket, you will have either oil running down the block, burning oil or milky grey colored oil!

Check those beofore you tear it down and waste the time, I have had a stock head gasket with 120,000 miles on it hold 15psi of boost and never leaked untill i spun a bearing at like 140,000 miles. These motors are put together pretty well in the factory form. I love stock beta, especially if they havent been opened up, Usually you will find head gaskets blow sooner after the motor has been opened up cause of inproper install, wrong torque or just lack of attention to install process!

I lost some oil too, the smell in the coolant reservoir, loosing coolant everyday, the smoke, no leaks... when I sum these thing up I'm pretty sure the head gasket is blown

If u remember I've changed my fuel pump and now I'm thinking that the shitty fuel pump was at the end of it's life so maybe I was running very lean with the nitrous...(just a guess)

I don't know... we will see when I open it and Turburon I promise I'll be very careful

At least I'm happy that I'll P&P it and change everything that is not good.

Thanx again guys u r helping me all the time

So today I drove the tib for around 100km/60miles aaaand no coolant in the reservoir !!! It clearly smells like petrol, the oil is not milky gray colored, but I'm loosing oil. Also I saw some huge leaks ( It looks like coolant ) coming from the head gasket ! When I say huge I mean almost the whole shorter side of the head ( gerabox side )

Now it's clear that tomorrow morning I will start working on it and my question is when I'm ready how much I have to torque the head ? Also if u have any tips I'll be more than happy if u share

I'll update hopefully with good news ONLY !!!

Head bolts get torque, plus degrees, plus degrees. It's on hyundaitechinfo somewhere, and it's on here several places.

Check it out and tell me what do u think

The things that are leading the valves ( i don't know the word in english ) are in bad shape, but only the exhaust ones, and I'm waiting to recieve'em at wednesday. I hope I'll be driving the tib at the end of the week without any problems
