Default Interior lights Dimming when braking and rolling the windows up or down..

Hi i drive a 98 tiburon..And for the life of me i cant remember if i had this problem BEFORE i got my Sidemarkers installed..

But everytime i roll down my windows or im at a stop light my interior dash lights seems dimmer...then when i take off they go back bright again...

And like 3 days after i got my sidemarkers my factory battery went dead, the guy told me it had nothing to do with the battery just one of those things he said..

Any of this happen to any of you?

ps. my sidemarkers are wired to my signal lights not my battery.

When i stop at a light and put my brake on my car starts to idle rough, and if I have my lights on it's worse. When i do that and roll the window up or down it gets even worse. It has to be the alternator/generator as called out on HMS, but can't believe no one else is talking about it.

Tib213 - I have the same problem on my 98 Tib FX.. It gets better as soon as you turn off your headlights and foglights and let off the brake so your brake lights aren't on, right? It's really buggin me.. I'm always scared it's gonna die or something.

My lights dim also when I roll down my windows, put my lights on, hit the brakes, put my turn signals on etc, etc, etc. I also installed side indicator lights so that is not the problem unless you have a bad ground but you would no about that before the dimming and would not be associated with the windows all I can tell you is it's normal when you are at a stop or you roll your windows down the power comes most and dirrectly from the battery when you are driving the alternator helps out thus you don't see the diming as much if at all when you car is idoling your alternato isn't helping as much and most of the power is drained from the battery and since the alternator is not working as hard at stops it takes more time for your battery to recharge from the draw. Also note that anything put into your car i.e. sterio system, aftermarket lights, etc will also put an extra burden on your battery/alternator causing a more noticable dim in your lights but fear not there is nothing to worry about it is normal if you want have a local shop test your battery just incase it's on the outs and if your alternator is going bad you will now it will start to scream and I mean literally scream when you turn your car on.
