Default Help me identify this lonely connector...

So I was digging around in my engine-bay today and found a connector that doesn't plug into anything. It splits off from one of the main harnesses by the firewall. There is about 16" of wiring to the plug, but the wiring was bunched up and taped down when I found it(looked like it came from the factory that way). There are two wires, 1# solid green w/ yellow stripe, and 2# solid green w/ blue stripe. I found a picture of the connector on HMA but there is absolutely no information on what it does. Does anyone know what the connector is for because I'm stumped blink.gif

The car in question is a 1998 Tiburon FX SE 5-speed, all options except ABS.

It's still the connector for testing the fuel pump.

I had a DIY up for it on how to use it at RDT, you may want to look it up and try it out.

Thanks REDZ. The plug in your DIY looks different though. I'll try the fuel pump test tomorrow and see if that's what it is.

Every time I see that thing I think of REDZMANG. I don't see it as much since I redid my wiring harness and hid it down low.

I looked at the pics again. I THINK that's the one, but I haven't looked in there in some time.

There are some weird mystery plugs on some of our cars.

Just found one near the rear passenger's side speaker in the Tib completely hidden under the interior panel. It looks like a diagnostic port, but it would require pulling off the interior panel to access it which is pretty odd. I should have taken pictures. It's a connector with probably 20-26 pins I would say, mounted right onto the metal work.

I have one in my engine bay below my cold air intake if I remember correctly that just hangs there. It looks all rusted out but can't reach anything. Little circle plug with like 1 wire coming out of it if I remember right. I always laugh when I see it and think "Man I hope that isn't important."

Do you have the Infinity stereo with the sub? If not, that's what it's for.

If this is on an early model and it's not for the fuel pump, it could be a vestigial throttle body switch connector.
