Default heater is not working

I went out and started my tib early this morning only to find out after several miles my heater wasan't working. Blower motor and A/C work fine and I'm getting cool air even when its turned to heat. The temp dail turns freely and the arm under the dash that pushes the flap is moving correctly also. Anyone with and idea on how to check if the flap has maybe broken without having to remove everything?

if you smell a sweet smell when the defrost is on, more than likely your heater core is gone. will also show when the defrost is on and your windshielf fogs over.

the little triangle (likely yellow) in the floorboard, above the accelerator, does it move when you turn the knob? if not, the cable broke/snapped somehow. just an idea.

Have you removed the dash within the last year?

could be a plug cor or divereter valve gone bad. If none of the above suggestions work

Feel the radiator hoses and make sure all are hot off engine has reached operating temp and make sure you have your heater controls to full hot/ defrost. then check heater hoses and see if both going to firewall are hot if one is hot and not the other fall below instructions if neither is hot then there is a blockage somewhere else in the system.

1. take off the two hoses connecting to the inlet and outlet of the heater core. 2. take your garden hose and duct tape it to the inlet side of the heater core with dash control set to full hot turn on heater hose. water should freely flow out of the outlet. if not take hose off and connect it to the outlet side of the heater core in an attempt to back flush the system if this doesn't work yuo'll have to pull the valve and possibly the heater core to check the system.

The cable is connected and everything is moving freely only now the temp dail turns easy when the heater worked before it wasnt moving as freely.

so the dial is messed up.

Pull the knob off. See if the inside of it is stripped. Turn the metal prong with your fingers and see if the heat comes on.

When I turn the dail the cable moves and so does the yellow triangle above the accelerator.

Ok so I took the easy way out and just took it in to the dealer. There's a pin that holds the flap that broke off from the yellow triangle on the heater box.
