Default engine removal

Just picked up an 01 tib in need of a motor. What is the best way to take them out? out the top or dropped out the bottom? This is my first Hyundai so still learning on them

be sure to remove the trans mount on the driver's side. you can access the bolts through the diver's side fenderwell.

Both times I did not have a lift and had to go through the bottom to remove by hand. If you have the luxury, use a lift and pull it out from the top with the hood off.

you can also drop the engine to the floor and lift the car up and away,if you have a hoist.

Out the top is doable with one STRONG person and a bare short block. Assembled, with a helper or two. A lift or hoist doesn't have to be amazingly hefty to get it out.

But be sure to support the transaxle AND engine while you unbolt them. Don't drop them on your chest like we almost did to my dad.
