Ok, question after I tell the story!!!
I took a long road trip today to meet with an old friend. He lives in the boonies and there's only 2 cheap redneck no-name gas stations. My gas light was on for a while so I decided to get 2 gallons of this no-name gas. Now, I hate off-brand gasoline; psychologically, I feel that my car feels dirty with it. Shell or other name brands are usually what I fill up with. My paranoia worsened when my check engine light went on using this no-name gasoline. After eating dinner with a friend, I left and drove 50 miles down the road to fill the whole tank with Shell gasoline. 5 minutes later, the check engine light went off. My Tiburon didn't have any strange behavior nor did it have any decrease in performance.
Now I'm paranoid about no-name gasoline and what the check engine light was for. Does the car's computer record the last known code?
Peace my brothers.

Can't be. I always click it 3 times. I've never forgotten in my life and I know I did it at the Redneck gas station. That's purely a Woman's mistake. Stand by for code tomorrow.

KR, I've forgotten my entire gas cap...woman's mistake?
Also, I've turned the gas cap until it clicks 6 times and still had it not seat properly for one reason or another.
It's also possible that their pump's auto shut off doesn't work as well as a major gas station, spilling enough fuel into your evap canister to prevent it from flowing air. If there's no other underlying issue the code can clear once the fuel has evaporated.
