car bogs down under throttle on rd1
it used to bog down under accelration when cold.. and now its seems to be getting worse. The rpm doenst fall, it just boggs down and has no power at all. There is no cel. any one got any ideas?
Likely your throttle position sensor. If it's a dae-sung, replace it with a kefico. Could also be a clogged cat or a few other things. I'd start with the TPS as the dae-sung's are a big fail on the tib.
any way to test the tps?
also, wouldnt that set off a cel? or not necessarily |
Nope, no cel for that. Copy/pasted from hmaservice;
disconnect the TPS connector and then; 3. Connect an ohmmeter between terminal 3 (sensor ground) and terminal I (sensor output). 4. Operate the throttle valve slowly from the idle position to the full open position and check that the resistance changes smoothly in proportion to the throttle valve opening angle. |
ok thanks, ill give that a try today :thup:
its starts at about 3.1 w/o touching the throttle. i barely start opening it, and it starts to go up till it reaches about 3.5, then goes to an OL, then i see a 4.5 then drops down to a 3.0ish, then starts droping smoothly in comparison

looks like you found your problem.
it looks like that solved the problem. much more drivable now. but now i have a low idle. i dont see any adjustment screw??
There is an adjustment screw on the throttle body IIRC, but you might just need to clean the TB (they can get nasty in there). Go get a can of seafoam and use it in the intake tract, where the fire department won't respond to the cloud of smoke it makes. If it's idling at 700RPM BTW, that's in spec. How low is "low?"
like 4-500ish.. everytime i let off the gas to come a stop, it drops and shudders a little. its not a steady idle. it moves from around 4-7ish id say. where should i enter it into the intake tract? vacuum line?
