Default car boging

hey guys, need a little help. my car today was boging every time i hit the gas. it idles fine, but every time i hit the gas the engine makes a weird bog sound and dies. now it does not die to the point of shutting down but just hesitates really bad. it began today as i was driving. all was well for the first 10 min, then without any warning check engine light comes on and the car began to bog as i hit the gas pedal. i was able to drive the car by keeping a constant pace (doesn't seem to be affected when the car is at a constant rpm.) any hints to what the problem could be? i have a 2000 tib, 5sp, about 77000kms, only maintenance has been regular oil changes. modifications are intake, exhaust and power steering bypass.

Sounds like one of three things.

Check your air filter.

Check your coilpack for the ignition.

Check you injectors.

Well, could be one of those, but in the cold weather, it could be water in your fuel lines too. When it's real cold the water turns to ice and you get blockage in your fuel lines. Get a bottle of water remover, or whatever it's called, from your local car parts store.

Let me know if this doesn't work. Sounds probable though.

found out the problem, one of the spark plug wires was deteriorated and the spark was coming through the wire and hitting the block. it also took out the coil, replaced both and its been running great. moral of the story here is do your regular maintenance or it will come back and bite you in the *** .
