Default brake lights

I have a 2005 elantra & noticed my brake lights were not disengaging after lights were off, & keys were out of (ignition. Is it my brake switch? Is islt easy to repair?

First thing is to test the switch. If it opens/closes the circuit properly, the next thing I'd think to check is a relay. I don't know about the 2005 in particular, but most cars I've dealt with have a switch actually mounted ON the brake pedal arm. Get upside-down under the steering wheel with a flashlight and multimeter, and have a look.

wires touching metal on your car can do this After fixing a recent issue.. could be a direct connection or else the lights would blink and flicker because of coming in and out of contact with
