Default Blow off valve help!

I'm ready to buy the blow off valve that Random recommended.
Here it is...

Now my next (dumb) question is how and where is it installed and what else do I need to install it? I see that there is a 90 degree elbow on the same site, do I need that too?

Adapter web page

I know that it recirculates the air back into the intake but where would I route it?

Sorry for the dumb questions, I searched and found lots of discussions about the Alpine Turbo but none talked specifically about the installation of the blow off valve.

Thanks!

Congrats GREG, you had this on a low down I see, or maybe I missed it... but I guess your car will be 100% different this time at NOPI Nationals... that is awesome man...

I'm working slowly but I hope by then I will too have a turbo...

Can't wait to see it all done man

Thanks Bat!

Hopefully we'll hook up again at NOPI this year.

Anywho... I just ordered from Amazon.com.

Maybe... with any luck I'll be able to provide my own "dumb" answers -

CyberGreg!!
How much boost are you planning on runing?
I have the the regular base BOV whicch is good up to 15psi.More than enough for my application and half the price of the one your getting. If your running higher boost then the purchase you made is fine!!

Yeah, I'm planning on getting the base BOV as well. It's the Type 25, if I remember right. Same design, vents back into the intake pipe.

The important thing to remember is to route the hose AFTER the MAFS and BEFORE the compressor. This way, you won't run too rich, protect your turbo, and live happily ever after.

Good purchase on the book. It has taught me 50% of what I know of turbos (25% is from the guys right here, 15% is from Turbochargers, by Hugh McInnes, and the other 10% is from the good ole' internet).

Curtas has it right. You route it AFTER the MAF but before the Compressor.

You can mount it anywhere between the intercooler and the TB, but it works best the closer to the TB it is (within given engine compartment space considerations.)

Random you really got me confused now!
On the Alpine Kit piping running up to the TB,how many inches away should the Turbo XS BOV be installed?
Since the MAF will be relocated to the bottom 12 inces away from the Turbo where do the guys have tocut and weld the BOV running up to the TB? Thanks smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif
