Would my lifting ability improve if I quit smoking?

my cardio definitely would but what about weight lifting?

i get winded after squats or deadlifts. i'm sure quitting will probably help my blood pressure during deadlifts

No. Nicotine is a stimulant, but has long-term effects on cardio. It's actually better to smoke before you work out for a smoker. Quitting will give you overall better cario results. Cardio can help strength training in a round-about way, but not directly.

Kinda. I forget where I read it (Muscle & Fitness?) but I read from what I considered a reliable source at the time: Heavy lifting gives you a cardio workout. That's why you get winded. If you could run for longer, you could also lift for longer.

Drink coffee if you want a stimulant.

Also for anyone else Muscular Development posted an article showing evidence to more than 500mg of caffeine take pre-workout to hinder performance. Jus sayn...
