Obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure by state held steady in 2012

WASHINGTON, DC -- Colorado residents were the least likely in the nation to be obese in 2012 -- as has been the case since 2010 -- making it the only state where less than 20% of adults are obese. West Virginia - also for a third year in a row -- is the state with the highest obesity rate, at 33.5%; however, this is down from 35.3% in 2012, which was the highest for any state that Gallup and Healthways have found since 2008.

There are about 1.8 million people in west virginia
Now 35% of them are obese, ie their BMI is over 30
Which makes for 630,000 fatties in WV
Let's say they're all average US height which is 169 cm
If they're all only just obese, (and they all weigh the same), their average weight is going to be 85.9 kg
To acheive a healthier BMI of 20, their weight should be 57.3 kg
Which means that each person needs to lose about 28.6 kg
Cliffs: there's about 40,000,000 pounds of excess fat jiggling around the state of west virginia
