Great article for people who crunched for time and need some type of work out regime...

I've bounced around to a few personal trainers in the last month or two. One guy, who happens to hold the state bench press record for his weight class, had me doing an insane HIIT workout with heavy ropes, kettle bells, weight bars, etc. and would kick my ass in 25 minutes. I'd be dead, on the floor ready to puke, and my muscles were entirely fatigued and torn to pieces... and I'm a gym rat. I loved it.
The newest guy I'm working with has me working solely with weights, and it's a different type of love. I spend an hour with him, more time warming up with smaller weights, more pyramid programs than HIIT, and I can tell it's working different muscles and more of the stabilizing muscles. My heart rate doesn't get up like it did with the HIIT, where I'd go all-out for 20 seconds for one exercise, rest for 20 seconds, then all-out for another exercise, repeat for 4 exercises to conclude 1 set, and do 3 sets.
edit: After actually reading the article, it sounds a lot like this, but like I said, we used kettle bells, heavy ropes, boxing gloves, etc.

Tabata: Tabata takes the same premise, but shrinks down the time period. Here, you push to your absolute max for 20 seconds and then rest for 10 seconds. This is great if you have a hill in your neighborhood where you run up the hill at full speed, walk down, and repeat. Like HIIT, you can integrate this into pretty much any workout.
