Best type of jump rope
I was planning of using jump rope to lose some weight. However, there are a lot of different options. What kind would you suggest? Leather? Fabric? Plastic/rubber? I want something that wont fall apart after a couple of minutes of use.

Iirc the ones they had at my school were kind of like thick insulated electrical wire. Not that I was at a povvo school or anything, but they were very durable.
Really though, the best type of jump rope is the one that you actually use.

Not one made of rope. They're too light and fray on non-smooth ground.
Rope with long beads around it will be more flexible
Solid plastic strand about 3/16" diameter is the best you're likely to find in a store. Get one with handles that have removable weights. Be sure to trim to the appropriate length for your height.
If you have it laying around, 3/16" or 1/4" plastic coated steel cable would also work.
