does hyundai have a part number for gear oil for a 2000 tiburon 5spd?

I saw some hyundai manual gear oil at my dealership. It was 75w/90 GL-4 semi-synthetic. It even had a shell logo on the label!

Sorry, what I meant to say was, perhaps enquire at shell or just use a substitute brand. I'm not sure that hyundai would put any magic pixie dust in the oil.

yea ive looked into it already, i cant find much, except for european spec gear oils.

Redline MT-90. It's just about the only widely available GL-4 oil.

oh yea, ive been running mt-90 for years. love it. just wondering about a cheaper OEM oil.

Cheaper? MT-90 is only $13/qt here. Most OEM stuff is more expensive than that.

when i worked at a hyundai dealer they never even bothered to make sure it was gl-4, they just ran whatever valvoline had (which i doubt was GL-4)



that being said, i dont even run gl-4

Redline Shockproof is GL-4. Pick your thickness from three grades. I use the lightweight for the Gen Coupe and it works great.
