Yeah nitrous is very cool , but when you watch on tv I had wet NX system and was spraying 75 shot. Its good if thats your "drag car", but for daily ... f*ck that sh*t!

There are a lot of problems when using nitrous, but I'm sure you know about that.

I want to see your pile of sh*t at the race track

Beta engines doesn't have any aftermarket support, Theres a guy in town that was putting down 220whp but hes was running 12.5.1 compression nasty Cams and a Hell of a tune. He 2.4 (Outlander engine) swapped his Accent, With that engine he dynoed 190whp with bolts on only. Hes putting down over 240whp NA right now. I will go basic, Intake maninfold, Throttle, Headers, Exhaust and tune, Lets see what happens.

The only way to make acceptable power with a Beta for anything that resembles a reasonable investment is forced induction/nitrous. They respond well to power adders and can handle quite a bit of power even on stock internals.

I had 160 HP in my NA setup.

Microtech ECU

AIRRAM

Megan Racing Header

1.8 Pistons

Beta II Head Gasket

Two Beta I exhaust cams

All the lightweight pullies.

Fidanza Flywheel

I may have more in it, but don't remember.

Oh and the higher Final drive won't help enough if you can't rev the engine more. To rev the engine more you need good cams, for good cams you need more compression.

My Beta 1 one with every bolt on (no nos)and no tune only made 108 hp/108 tq on a dynojet...270 hp on a beta 1,made mid 12 sec passes.. both on 91 oct....I would follow SpoolinShark race egg's build for inspiration and go FI.

When I did it there was only a few with 160HP. Most the ones that I know that pass that marker had ported heads, I never had that.
