Default Top Speed... what top speed?

I need to find a way to prevent the top speed limiter from kicking in at 120mph on my elantra... Is there anybody out there who makes a chip or something to solve this problem of mine.
In other words, it realy sucks when your goofing around with some friends on a private road and when I think I'm going to keep up with them my speed limiter comes on and I lose power. THIS REALY BITES!!!!!!

The Tiburon must be higher than that cause I pushed past 130 mph on a vacation trip and and it still never cut out.

The stock ECU will cut out at 125 for the tiburon. Your speedo may read higher as there is a 10% allowable error in speedo's.

You can disconnect the Vehicle Speed sensor wire from the ECU, but do not do this for daily driving. It causes the vehicle to die when coming to a stop, and poor acceleration from a stop.

Hey Random, you ever find the wiring schema for the way the Speed Sensor hooks through the dash cluster? I remember you saying that it reads through the speedometer, or something like that. I'd like to see how the wiring works; if it's not too complex, there may be a way to hook up a switch, accessible from the driver's seat, that can allow the driver to disconnect the sensor while driving/racing, and can reconnect it before stopping so you won't stall out.

Let me know what you've got!

I'm going to talk to superchips in UK since our new 01 Elantras do not have a MAF sensor and they make a chip for MAP Elantras.
SPEED LIMITERS SUCK !!!
I run up to mine so quick even in 5th I get to about 130 mph before slowing to about 110 before it lets you speed up again.
