The boys over at Fxtreme liked it, so I figured you folks would enjoy it as well.

Falls into the "learn something new everyday" catagory.

I was gonna throw that one up there next week after I had one the "math" on the Tiburon and Elantra.

Oh well, maybe someone will beat me to it! *hint hint*

Well, I'd love to act like I'm all smart and do the calculations so i could get a good member rating and all...
But i don't even know the gear ratios for a 2K Tib  heh

Here ya go:

1st gen
1st 3.62
2nd 2.053
3rd 1.37
4th 1.031
5th 0.837

2nd gen
1st 3.308
2nd 1.95
3rd 1.393
4th 1.061
5th 0.837

Would you like a calculator as well? :D

Thanks a lot smartass... tongue.gif

I tried doing the calculations based on this stock dyno run but the numbers that came out didn't look right. Have u guys figured anything out?

Random May 17, 2001 10:06 AM

Post up the numbers you came up with and we can see if we can figure it out together...

I just ran them through Microsoft Excel and I must say it looks pretty weak.

I don't think the Tib lends itself very well to that method. It has a pretty straight torque curve. On my graphs, 1st gear never even comes close to intersecting 2nd.
