Mods: about that decade long warrantee...
Ok, I just purchased my second Hyundai- a 2001 C.blue Tiburon (first one was a 2k D.Sand Accent). Anyways, Im just wondering if there are any mods that will improve my cars performance without killing my warrantee. As Im still working muh way through college, I want to have that warrantee to prevent any major car repair bills (should there be any need). Anyone... Anyone???
How I've spent too much(yet not enough!)$$$:
Enkei RS6 wheels with blue centercaps
Dunlop GT Qualifier 40 series tires
Infinity door & rear panel speakers
Pioneer 200 watt amp hooked to
2 R. Fosgate 10" Punch subs
Much, Much more to come...

sup man,
All after market mods will effect your warrantee, it has to be an official Hyundai part to not effect it. There is one thing that should keep in mind, it won't void your whole warrantee, all warrantees are very specific so read yours. For example if any parts is damage on your car by an after market part, yourself or anyone else, the warrantee will be void for that part only. You will then have to pay for repairing it. If it was damaged do to non-related or self inflected damage cause the part was good in the first place then you don't have to pay. The dealership can't say that your knock sensor broke cause you put in a new Cat-Back system on. Do you understand what I mean? Of course if your Cat-Back system breaks or rust before your warrantee is over, they still won't fix it because it's not an official Hyundai part.
So you can still buy mods just be careful that none of your mods break anything else.
You can check on that just by keeping all your parts in-check so they don't break anything. It's just good maintaining of your car.
So far that's what I have come to understand for are warrantee's but it could be different in other parts of the country.
If some else has better information then I do then please step up and help Entrop-E out.
I hope I helped you a little but remember my info is not that accurate and it's stuff that I gathered myself.
Good luck!

My dealer told me I can do the basics. Intake, Exhaust, Headers. But if I decided on force induction, like turbo, supercharger etc that would void my warranty. I figure I will do the natural stuff first, and do the turbo after I get finished paying my tib off! smile.gif

Read the section. Memorize the section. Print out parts of it and take it to your dealer if he gives you grief.
If he still gives you grief...go to the Hyundai 1-800 line.

It would only void the body warranty on the parts that the body kit replaces or directly touches.
They couldn't claim the paint flaking off your roof was due to the fact that you had a front and rear bumper installed....

It also varies by state, so be sure to check you owners manual. I think if I took my car into the dealership when I get my body kit, they might say something...because the dealers out here in Utah are jerks.....

Just make sure you know your rights. Some dealerships will try to tell you that mods will void the entire warrantee when it doesn't.
I used to sell car stereo and I have had dealers try to tell customers that an after market radio voided the entire warrantee but this is BS.
