Build your own ramps - another way

Found this link. I'm intrigued and terrified at the same time.

I think, if you are terrified, you probably are underestimating the strength of 2x dimensional lumber spaced at close intervals supporting 2x lumber. Those are probably WAY stronger than they have to be. The ramps-under-ramps bit was a bit sketchy but the ramps in the picture you selected look perfectly fine.

or you could go buy some. A set of actual car ramps cost $30, less when on sale! Get two sets. There has to be more than that in the material alone in the posted pic(s).

The set he posted (with the Z32 in the link) have a lighting system with pivots for location while raised. Not getting all of that for $30 anywhere.

It's actually damn brilliant. :beercheers:

It's also not just a set of ramps. It's a set of ramps that do stand-in duty for your lift or pit that never got installed in your garage. Oh, plus you can drive up those long ramps even with a super-low car and not scrape the car on the ramps or the ground.

That's a damn good point. I noticed that myself. Those of up who sweat speedbumps don't stand a prayer of a chance against the autozone ramp. :headshake: It's is a great solutions and lifts all 4 tires at once.
