Let me know what you think guys. I'm going to redo the angel eye videos with even better DIYs and info to go along with a application specific kit. I'm so glad I dont have to make my own angel eyes anymore, lol. These things are so bright they light up the front of my house blue when I pull up in the driveway. They're super bright in the daytime as well, even from far away. Its basically a round circuit board with a bunch of surface mount LEDs that put out more light from each one, than my old angel eyes do in the whole ring. I wish I had a new CF hood on for these pics, but I had a sick kid and plenty of time where I had to stay at home, so I swapped my old angel eyes for these new ones.

Kits will be 60 for the RD1, 80 for the RD2

They come in White, Red, Blue, and warm white hooked up to an included toggle switch.

Even with the lowbeams on these things are very bright and visible. I think they're putting out more light than the headlights!

hyper25 12-01-2009 09:17 AM

I like em think i may even be interested in getting a set from ya.

'treezy 12-01-2009 10:33 AM

Cold Cathode Flourescent Lights man.. In a glass tube.. MmmMmmm. There's nothing quite like that smooth even white glow..

But I would like to see what you have in white (and warm white, whatever the hell that is).

What is the mm ring size? (inside/outside diameter). There are lots of ccfl "kits" out there in standard sizes, I'll be the guinea and buy one if it's close to what RD1's need..

azngoose 12-01-2009 11:13 AM

Wow looks great. smile.gif

Hmm if you could please post up pictures of the other colors. ^^ I am also interested in the warm white as well

insanezj 12-01-2009 12:45 PM

one guy i know hooked his halos up to strobe is that possible for like shows or no? just a lil curiosity.... defiantly would be intrested in a set of reds

FlyRyde 12-01-2009 02:32 PM

I'd do CCFL as well if I find a supplier with stupid cheap prices. If not oh well, I'm only interested in making money. Put it this way, other companies are selling these same angel eyes for like 200 bucks right now, so basically I'm just charging my cost on the rings, plus the cost of materials for the wiring and switches (like my old kits) and a few bucks for my pocket to make it worth doing all the work to produce vehicle specific kits.

I'd say the best size rings for the RD1 are 80mm and the RD2 I think are 90mm (small) and 110 (large). Not positive on the RD2 until I do a set.

As far as strobes, etc. what I've seen so far is that these can be hooked up to any kind of effect modules out there. They're just 12v lights. lol I hooked them up to my 18v cordless drill battery and damn near blinded myself. I was worried they'd be TOO BRIGHT when they were hooked up to that, almost too bright to look at. But at 12-14v they're bright enough to see from across a parking lot in the daytime. If anyone wants to pick up a set in another color I'll do the install for free if you ship me your lights and pay for shipping. They come with a white backing to them, which looks great with the chrome bezels. I wanted mine to match my painted bezels so I literally just painted them, and removed the paint that covered the face of the LEDs. My guess is that with custom color bezels, like OEM Red or Blue for example, painting them would add that final touch to the lights (as opposed to looking like something that didn't belong in there).

I'm just gonna start taking orders right away, and unless I find its more trouble than its worth for what I'm currently asking, I'll keep the prices really low. I used to charge 165 plus shipping for the acrylic rings I made on my "halo machine" so taking that part of the process out of the picture I think 60/80 + shipping is perfect for this market smile.gif

Anyone who wants to order a set, please do, God knows I could use the money, and I want to get a few sets of these out there to see if its gonna be worth putting in all the time to market these things with install vids, tons of pics, and other offers like control modules and what not.

dddude55 12-01-2009 03:05 PM

Maybe pm me a price for shipping to London, ontario, Canada and I'll buy a set for the rd1 ^_^

zoned019 12-01-2009 03:13 PM

I love my angel eyes, but I'd love CCFL more wink1.gif.

FlyRyde 12-01-2009 03:13 PM

I'd love 100 bucks for some leather seats. (man it feels weird to be on the other side of that argument)

REDZMAN 12-01-2009 03:29 PM

I've got an extra set of RD2 headlights or two...

Can you get the dual color ones? I'd love to have WHITE and amber for turns.

FlyRyde 12-01-2009 03:48 PM

Workin on that bro, I just can't find any of the actual manufacturers that do the Dual Color. Once I do its on like Donkey Kong. dddude I got the parts on order just now, so I'd expect them to arrive to me by no later than the end of next week. I told the supplier this is his test to see if he can deliver timely enough to use him as my source on the rings. I'll have the rest of the kit waiting, and even film the install on one of my extra set of RD1 lights.

My offer stands if anyone wants to send in a set of RD2 lights, free install, you pay shipping smile.gif

Bommello 12-01-2009 04:43 PM

I maybe interested in a set after xmas. I know another RD2 that has been wanting angle eyes for a while, but he wants them in green.

dddude55 12-01-2009 05:59 PM

Just so people know, I ordered a pair for the rd1 in blue

insanezj 12-01-2009 07:01 PM

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Blacktibs @ Dec 1 2009, 06:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I'd love 100 bucks for some leather seats. (man it feels weird to be on the other side of that argument)</div>

id sure like some leather seats for 100 bucks lol someone got em?

so if i ship my headlights to you to get a set of red halos, you'll install it?

REDZMAN 12-01-2009 07:42 PM

Blacktibs, if you want to do a chain buy with these for RD2, I'll gladly send you the ones I have to start it.

Just hook me up when you get the dual colors available.

PS, they are already boxed up and ready to go. Just need some lens polishing and the housings painted because of bright green overspray from the owner. LOL

nos4atu 12-01-2009 08:43 PM

Blacktibs, the RD2's are 80mm and 110mm. I've got some that look similar installed in mine with pics posted in one of my posts (Anyone try these out yet?).

Used silicone to hold mine in they're still in strong, mind you I haven't had a good enough weekend to install them yet.... and probably won't until spring or summer unless I can convince my boss to let me use the shop over the christmas break.

*edit*- noticed that you had a reply in that post, did you use the same seller?

'treezy 12-02-2009 10:48 AM

can you post pics of the other colors you have listed?

FlyRyde 12-02-2009 10:58 AM

I'm actually waiting to hear back from a few companies to get the absolute best price/options on these so I can keep the costs low like I want. I should be able to offer the dual color setups here shortly smile.gif Then they can be white, and turn to blue when you flip a switch, or White, and flash Amber with the turns.

fury 12-02-2009 11:38 AM

BlackTibs, I'm interested in a set of blue ones for my RD1. How much would shipping cost to Toronto, Canada?

nos4atu 03-05-2010 08:49 PM

Any word on the multicolor ones?

majik 03-05-2010 08:56 PM

Somehow I missed this thread. Chris - you'd better fix that windshield before the cops harass you again.

but those headlights are effin' sweet

DTN 03-05-2010 09:06 PM

I want a set for RD2... however, they would not fit right, so nevermind... Any plans of carying RD2 oval rings for the high beams?

nos4atu 03-05-2010 09:26 PM

Actually, I found that the set that I bought fit into the high beam almost perfectly. There's maybe a 32nd of an inch of gap. The material flexed enough to fit the oval nicely.

FlyRyde 03-07-2010 03:12 AM

I took a pic of the CCFL ones I have now in any color, as well as the Dual LED ones that come in Blue/White Red/White and soon once they're restocked I'll have the White/Amber dual LEDs again. Problem is the sale price will be freakin high, 140 bucks + s/h 02.gif

I'm trying to find a better source for the dual color ones, but for reg. LED and CCFL my prices aren't bad. CCFL are 110 and reg. LED are 60. I'll get those videos up tomorrow. I'm trying for the life of me to get about 10 new websites up this week for my new business, and one of them is for the Genesis Coupe. All my lighting stuff right now I'm doing is aimed at that market, but I have sizes for anything, including the RDs and RD2s smile.gif

nos4atu 03-07-2010 09:30 AM

So we can expect some pics up and running on the Flyryde site in a couple of days then? 'Cause plans are now starting for my project, and I would like to get prices for the budget.

FlyRyde 04-09-2010 10:25 AM

I'm completely redoing FlyRyde.com right now with my new software, and it'll basically start out with nothing but Tiburon parts. That's when I'll take the time to load all the new products I have. Should be soon, but my damn programmer is busy with his taxes, lol. I hate April until after the 15th.

dddude55 04-09-2010 01:07 PM

I got my tax return about a month ago ;P

DTN 04-10-2010 12:14 AM

Stretching yourself too thin again?

FlyRyde 04-12-2010 04:45 PM

me or dddude?

majik 04-12-2010 06:10 PM

the pics look CGI almost.... too bright to be real lol

REDZMAN 04-12-2010 06:24 PM

I'm waiting to see more on this, so I can get them for my spare headlights that I'm doing the projector conversion for.

I'dlike to see what you could get for the SOUL...

majik 04-12-2010 07:37 PM

^ that's a potentially large market u can tap into. Close, tight community like the crooked H

FlyRyde 04-13-2010 02:47 PM

For sure, I think I should start a site for the Soul like I did with the Genesis. Granted its not only my site, but its all GC stuff, maybe a good Soul website would do well?

Yeah Redz, for sure give me a call man, I'll get something the exact size you need, and hopefully I can get you some for pretty cheap so i can get pics to use on the site smile.gif

Check out the videos of some of these that I have now all the angel eyes have the vids I think? Could be wrong...
