Hello guys, I just got my turbulence side skirts the other day. How difficult is it to install the these things yourself? What will I need if I do it myself? I'm going to get them painted in a couple of weeks and am debating whether to pay extra to have them installed. Thanks smile.gif

im guessing it would be the same in reverse to put the new ones on, as they are an OEM item.

Thanks man, is there anything else I will need to install it, like double sided tape or anything?

a lot of people around here just pop rivet them on. doesn't look good up close, but it works. and on mine, me dad and i made some mounting brackets to help support the underside so they don't wobble around. what looks best is if you get them molded on. its a lot more work, but it looks so bad a**. fiberglass to the body. don't know if you were going to repaint the whole car or not, i'm guessing not. could always go with a 2 tone on the bottom half?

if you have to use double sided tape, then they are not being installed properly.

i would never secure a body part on my car with double sided tape.

I don't know too much about adding stuff like that. I got a quote from a reputable body shop that I know of that said they'll paint them and install them for $250. How's that sound?..they do a great job of painting, they do contract work for the local Hyundai.

the top of the oem turby skirts are secured by double sided tape...

Theres no other way..

Unless you want to pop some rivets in there.. but it will look like ass unless you have them molded in.

If you do it right, they will sit nice and flush with the double sided tape.

Also to note.. ALL OEM bolt holes and screws will be used. The double sided tape just helps it sit flush, its not used for support.

Oh yeah.. and one more thing.. the under portion of the oem side skirts are secured by suicide clips.. as soon as you pop them out, they will break. Go to the dealer and order a full set before install. They cost about 25 cents each.
