Show of hands - how many of you do your own paint and body work?

I'm learning :hiya:

I do. Its not pro by any means, but people who have closely looked at the car agree it still looks great.

I did my own for two reasons:

A. I was broke at the time

B. I really wanted to see if I could pull it off!

It was fun. Read a ton about it and watch some you tubes. Prep work is the most important part of any paint job. 2nd is knowing how to spray!!! Again, lots of reading and watching as much technique as you can.

Definitely means a lot to me when folks ask me where I got the work done and I can say I put in the hours and the skills. : )

I do. It's one of the few things I actually enjoy as far as working on cars goes.

the only bodywork i do is trying to rid the rear quarter panel of rust..need to stick a boroscope in the cavities of the quarter panel and find out whats causing it.

I did, today. Don't ask me why my wife's car needed me to adjust a fender so the door opens right and the hood so it will close all the way. :duh5:

:hiya: Best doing it yourself versus spending a ton for a shop to do it.

That depends: If you need $2000 in parts and $4000 in labor, a $1000 deductible is cheeeeeap.
