I bought an eBay "euro" antenna some time ago, and am just getting around to putting it on. How does the stock antenna come off? Is there any trick to this, or do I just get the vice grips out and twist? Also, does anyone have an aftermarket antenna, and if so, how does it work? Thanks.

I did it and it sucked. I think you just twist it and it comes right off. Be careful! I lost half of the crap by just messing around.

i was thinking about this myself... although i just wanted to take the whole damn thing out...

hold the base part that conforms to the car(black), and then unscrew the antenna with an adjustable wrench or something.

i have the same one you just bought. it looks much better, but my reception did go down.

I've got an aftermarket one, it's a Power antenna and I LOVE it. I get way better reception and still get the somewhat shaved feel and look.

To get the stock WHIP off, just get a 1/4 inch wrench and twist it right off.

Thats funny I keep having to retighten mine when I get in my car. It's become kind of a ritual for me to reach and tighten it then get in the car. Anyone got any suggestions to stop it from doing that???

Yeah, I had a hella time removing my ant base.I ended up cutting it out, lol!! Don't matter cause I put my FUBA(Euro)on the roof.

The base is EASY to get out.

You just gotta take out the inside liner on the left side of the trunk.
