Re: nopi meet

Hey guys, have any of you had any trouble with tires rubbing even with the plastic inner lining of the fender wells taken out?

iv got 17x7.5 adr dv-8 with continental sport compact 2 - 225x45x17
and for some reason the passenger side tire is somehow getting grooves torn out of it on the verry outmost part of the tire .

Iv done everything from removing the plastic to grinding away the frame lip that runs through the top of the fenderwell on the passenger side , and still somehow the tire is still getting grooves taken out of it /

Is this just too much tire for my o1 tib? I surely hope not cuz these fuggin tires are badazz dry-traction and not to mention expensive as hell.

yes, this is too much tire.

the biggest tire you can put on would be 215's. after that, you're running risk of rubbing.

majority here go w/ 205's

Re: Took the elantra out to the track today

Yeah, it's rubbing. My passenger side is rubbing but my Driver's isn't. I think it's because of a dent in my passenger fender.

BTW mang, welcome to the forums. Please, check out the thread on the ABQ BBQ and come out mang!

Re: Offical RDTuners GB

Try rolling the guards...

I know you said you've already tried "grinding the lip" but any good body shop should have guard rollers. These can be used to slightly push out the guard as well as giving it a nice smooth finish, so it wont take any chunks out of your pricey tyres!

Just a thought...

Re: a whole lotta tibs

hey gang, thanx oz but the pricy tire already has a few chunks out of it , but not too bad.
I think i fixed the problem , i just used a rubber mallet and pliers with rubber on them and rolled the inside of the fender lip up and in.
and grinded the inner frame lip that runs down the inner fender well.
so far -so good...
thanx for all the help, yall are a great bunch of folks.
