ive used nightshades. if you go light coats you wont get any running. but imo its too dark. and your better off getting them vinyled. they look much better and shinnier. no matter how much wet sanding i did and sprayed clear it always looked dull.

 

Mine is shinier than my paint. Maybe you had bad clearcoat or something.
