How long before waxing fresh paint?

I got this spoiler last week and had it painted. I was wondering how long before its ok to apply fresh wax and I'm able to wash it without any issues?

1 week? 2 weeks? 3 weeks?

4 - 6 months.

23 years just to be sure . . . or . . .

consult the paint manufacturer's literature, or call them.

1 month should be fine. Washing can be done within a couple of weeks. If you do wax it after a month, just do it by hand and not with an orbital polisher. Wait about 3 months before using one of them.

I painted my car about 10 months ago and the manufacturer recommended between five and six months! I used an OEM ford color (dark shadow grey) and that is simply what i was told. The employee at the paint shop and the professional that painted it both agreed with it, but that was a whole car spray with base coat/clear coat. I am not sure if 1-stage makes any difference but that is just what i was instructed. :imnewhere:
