Default Cleaning road tar off car

I went through a road construction zone yesterday and ended up getting some black road tar on my car by the wheels. Its dried on the paint and Im trying to figure out the best way to get it off without ruining the paint underneath or scratching up the clear coat. Anybody have any suggestions?

80 grit sandpaper. What?

Just use a little gasoline or diesel on a rag. Just wash the car like normal immediately afterwards.

They sell stuff at most auto stores to remove bird crap and road tar safely without messing up your paint. If you're too afraid to use what ^ said, then go spend the $5 on the store remover stuff and call it a day.

Just spray the affected areas with CarPro TarX and wait for a few minutes. Then use mf towel to wipe it off.
