Does anyone know of a DIY for wrapping headers? I ordered some DEI Header Wrap and need some instructions. I need to place another order though, since I found out I did not order enough. If anyone is wondering, they recommend a 50 ft roll for 4 cyl headers.

It's not too hard to do.You can use some hose clamps of appropriate size to secure the wrap. Also, make sure to overlap the wraps.Another thing..........after the wrap is installed and you start the car there will be nasty smelling smoke for about 30mins.It seems to be a normal thing and after 30 mins everything is fine,so don't worry. The car ain't on fire or anything.

well, not only does it make the engine bay cooler, but it keeps heat in the header better, which means higher exhaust gas velocity.

it prolly adds more power depending on how much power you allready have. it certainly cannot hurt though, unless it causes your header to crack, which i think only happens with a certain type of metal used.

Yeah,I've always been told to wrap headers, otherwise the enging compartment will be much hotter.I've never stuck a thermometer under the hood to find out the difference,so I guess it's one of those things.Either you beleive it or not.

Well, I do know one thing you'll want to know.

Use gloves.

Random and a few others have made the mistake of not wearing some leather gloves when wrapping that stuff, and what do you know? It's made of fiberglass, like in your house.

ITCHY!
