I thought I remembered seeing at one time the cylinders were like so: 3-2-1-4 or something similar to that.
I had AutoZone check the CEL and there's a misfire in the 2nd cylinder and I need to replace my spark plugs. I have NGK on order, but I want to replace the plug with a cheap one until my new plugs come in, and I want to know which one to replace. Any help? |
what's the cylinder order?
the firing order and the number of cylinders are independant. Number one is at the front of the engine where the timing belt.. number two right behind it.
What is odd, you have a misfire on 2? I just put my cam in this evening and pulled the plugs to turn the engine over.. ALL of the plugs except the one from number two are a nice brown colour.. sign of a good mixture.. number two is dark, running too rich. |
well.... I still have stock plugs in there... and I'm at 65k miles.... 02.gif and it said it was the 2nd cylinder... My NGK plugs are on the way, but I don't know when they'll get here, so I figured I'll pay the $2, get a crappy plug to keep in that cylinder til my NGK come in... my car's running pretty bad...
so which plug do I replace for this? |
number two... as you are facing the car with the hood open.. the second one from the left...

This is in Korean, but you get the idea from the pix:

very very helpful.. I was actually unsure of which coil fired which cylinder.. I know it is a bath fire. with 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 plugs both fireing at the same time.

No worries laugh.gif

uhhh....this is from webtech. it says 1342

that does make sense... 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 are paired.. on the same plane of the crank but at opposite parts of their stroke. While one is supplying power, the other is exhausting.. As such, the coil that powers one and four would fire (both at the same time.. if 1 is on the power stroke, then 4 is doing a "waste spark" and then when 3 came up, both 3 and 2 would fire as well...
