what to do next..

okay.. i'm stuck.. so far, i've got an intake, a muffler only, and some aesthetic upgrades (probably too much stereo).. lol.. anyways.. i want to get some power now, i think.. i don't want nitrous just yet.. it's tempting, but i'm not sure about it.. anyway, i've got new plugs and plug wires on the way..

my question is what can i do to get a NOTICEABLE, seat-of-your-pants gain? I'd like to finish off my exhaust, by getting a header, high-flow cat, and 2.5" custom bent exhaust.. but, i was told that the piping was already 2".. So, would the extra half-inch make that much of a difference? Or would it be just as good to get the header, go to one cat (as opposed to the two factory ones on there now), and leave the piping at 2"? Just getting the header and cat and stuff is probably gonna run me about 600 bucks, and that's a bit high, unless i'm gonna get noticeable gains.. if someone could recommend something else, regardless of price, then by all means, please do.. Thanks guys.

NOTICEABLE, seat-of-your-pants gain? .</div>The most affordable power gain you are looking for is Nitrous. The only other option is turbo which is much more expensive.

Um the stock pipeing is only 1.75".Since you have a auto get the 4-2-1 header and get a high flow cat and also 2.25" or 2.5" pipeing.I have 2.5" mandrell bent on my auto with the 4-2-1 and it gives great high RPM HP.I would also do this all togheter because if you just get the exhaust done you will still need to modify it when you get the header and cat.

thanks alot, planetnutz. that's what i was really after.. =) it was some old guy at the muffler shop that told me the piping was 2".. So, i'll let him slide.. lol

but again, thanks for your help..

Save your money. Save your money.

Buy a Turbo. Buy a Turbo.

Thats basically the best "seat of the pants" feel you can get smile.gif

i don't want a turbo. =
i mean, i know it would be the best, and so would nitrous.. but, i NEED my car. lol
and yeah, i know they're good if used right, and blah blah blah.. but.. when it comes down to it, i'm only 20, and i don't wanna go gettin' into something that major yet, cause i'm debating going back to school, and such.. So, unless something changes, turbo and the like aren't in my plans.. But hey, I'm still young, gimme time.. tongue.gif

A good CAI will give you a seat of your pants gain. The cold air gives then engine more torque and torque is all you feel.

Sicness I am 20 too, and mine is a daily driver that is one reason that I am thinking about doing all motor too. Because once my engine is gone, so am I. And I didn't know that OBX makes headers for the beta engine BV1. I saw it on your signiture. What website can I find that on?

I went to the website and I saw nothing there for a header for a hyundai. All I saw was hondas and acuras ( of course ) mitsus, and toyotas.
